RADICAL BOOK CLUB

Who's interested in a thoughtful book club, talking to folks of different perspectives but with a general left (or post-left) lean?

Here are some topics I'm interested in, to give a loose sense of what I'm after. This can be added to and I hope our choices of content will be collaboratively made.

Topics (in fiction and non-fiction -- I hope for a balance of each):
Anarchism/anti-capitalism
Nihilism
Race and colonialism
Queer theory and literature
Sci-fi, dystopia and utopia
Radical/liberatory parenting, child-care and unschooling

The reason I'm organizing this is that I want to be thinking critically and to have ideas deepened and challenged; that said, I am not interested in a space in which people are debating/arguing/persuading each other to agree, or generally being disrespectful, taking over the space, or shutting others down. Although this is an open invitation, I am attempting to create a particular kind of 'community', and therefore anyone consistently expressing right wing view points, racism, queerphobia, sexism, etc. will be asked to leave.
